Speedy's ASK-14 motor glider restoration project reached another important milestone on Sunday when it was re-rigged for the first time.

It looks fantastic ... the workmanship in restoring the fuselage, tail plane and wings is a credit to Speedy (Bernard Gonsalves) and Bert Persson. The excellent results achieved reflect the countless hours of work that have been put in.

The presentation of the aircraft after Speedy's spray painting is world class.

The motor and propeller are fitted  and static ground testing has commenced.

When Trevor Mills emailed the picture that appears above, he had in the subject field of the email  ...  "Two great powered aircraft !!!"

Note the Mustang taking-off in the background ... there is just a little difference in horsepower, speed and monthly fuel bills!

Is this the smile of a proud father-to-be?

The following additional photos have been provided by Speedy today (with the cowl attached properly) ...

For those who may not be aware ... the ASK-14 is basically a motorised version of the K6 using the wings and tail surfaces of the K6E. It is a "wood and fabric" aircraft with a fibreglass cowl and a few fibreglass fairings.
