Russell's report ...

Have
pity on Kevin Roden and David Higgs tonight
– because while you did whatever you have
to do on a Tuesday, they were forced to fly
a total of six aerobatic flights to 4,500
feet, poor devils.
The force came in the form of an email from
a former Coca-Cola executive who wondered if
we could put on a corporate flying day at
short notice. Nothing as epic as the Coke
day the club did several years ago – today
was just eight executives from his new
company rather than the Coke 60 or so –
but the results were just as satisfactory.
Kevin and David were joined by Tony Sorensen
in the tug, Barry McCarthy and Kevin Rodda
on the ground while Mick Moloney and I flew
the two passengers who said they “didn’t
want a roller coaster ride”.
The final result was four flights in IKW for
a total 2:27, four flights in CQC for a
total of 1:45 and two launches for ES Ka-6
GRV, one of which gave Kevin Rodda the
flight of the day at just under an hour.
All together over $2,000 revenue for the
club.
Not bad for a Tuesday, even if it did mean
sweat all over the flight sheet from
exceedingly hot and humid conditions.
While soaring was not the day’s big focus
there was enough lift around to make most
flights over half an hour, and to put big
smiles on the faces of all eight passengers.
Check them out in photos coming soon to the
club website!
