To Garrett, Ray, Barry, Kevin and Steve,

. . .  and to anyone else who's name has slipped my mind,

Thanks for helping to make our stay in Australia last month our most memorable vacation ever.

The flights and scenery were spectacular to say the least.

To be able to tell my friends back home that I was able to take my wife on a scenic flight in one of your aircraft says a lot about your character and generosity as a club (not to mention guts for loaning out a plane to a 'foreigner')!

Thank you Garret [Russell] for spending time with me on the phone calls, making arrangements and picking me up (also for helping us navigate to the liquor store afterwards!); to you Ray [Colley] for getting me through the paperwork; to you Barry [McCarthy] for the fine instruction on Australian aviation protocol, "towing low,"  and for having to shout to a hard-of hearing American who was slow to interpret Aussie dialect (did your voice ever come back?); to you Steve [Chapman] for having the guts to tow me; and to you Kevin [Rodda], for publishing this letter and photos.

Please save my e-mail [Tom's email address circulated to Committee] so if any of you ever make it to the US, I can return the favor.

Although our fleet can't compare to yours, we do have great thermal activity and class E airspace to 18,000 feet (5,500 metres)!

Please do not hesitate to call me at [Tom's phone number has been circulated to the Committee] if you ever make it over here in Arizona.

I hope to stay in touch because I plan on returning to your great country on business (the conference went very well) and vacation as soon as I can.

I will follow up on your website when I can and if it is okay, keep you updated on flying here in the states.

Once again, a heartfelt thanks and best wishes!

Cheers!
