Col Asher's First Solo

But the star of the day was unquestionably Colin Asher. Following the "rain abort" at 0928, I took him for a "no instruments" flight at 1028 and then David Griffiths did two more training flights with him. At that stage David decided that he was sick of suffering Colin’s flying and told him to get airborne on his own! And so Colin earned the privilege of shouting a round of beer at the end of the day by GOING SOLO. And in style – with a 25 min flight to be followed not long after by a perfectly judged hangar flight! Well done Colin!!!
