However
a quick drive verified that RW 12 was usable if we didnt veer too far left and a
check of the BOM Brisbane Radar showed that we were unlikely to get more rain for a few
hours at least.
And
so we prepared IKW, QA and CQC for action and headed for 12 in readiness for the first of
a total of eight planned 3000 ft AEFs for Fortitude Valley Rotarians. With a couple of exceptions our visitors were
booked at 15 min intervals and we planned to give each a 20 minute flight.
To
achieve that schedule required a great effort by the CGC Team and that is precisely what
happened. The whole process of collection from
the Aero Club, documentation/payment, pre flight briefing, conduct of the flight, debrief,
Certificate presentation and eventual return to the car park all went like a well oiled
machine. Flights were all of 20 mins give or take 2 mins and, in almost all cases, the
next flight was ready to launch when the tug landed.
And
all of that happened with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of willing cooperation by an
enthusiastic band of Club Members.
All
of our visitors thoroughly enjoyed their flight and there is a possibility that a business
corporate day may eventuate as a result.
Once
our last guest departed we did six member flights including hangar flights for the three
gliders.
Stats
for the day 8 AEFs and 6 member flights. QA
4 flights for 1 hr 16, IKW 5 flights for 1 hr 40 and CQC 5 flights for 1 hr
42. Total time 4 hrs 38.
All
in all an excellent day and my thanks to all concerned for the great support.
Well
done Team Caboolture |
