Adapted from Mick Moloney's report on CGC Operations 09-Apr-11 ...

Also at the field on duty as Air Experience Instructor was Kevin Rodda, with brothers-in-law Dave and Peter Alderdice from Newcastle.

The occasion? Nothing much, just Kev’s 1,000th flight.

Remember that leaden sky? Well, Kev had just four flights to get to 1,000.

So the aim was to get him there before something went wrong (namely, rain or the fuel bowser nailing us again).

Fortunately, he made it ... and it was with the longest flight of the day.

So, congratulations Kev, well done!

Now let's see ... that's ... ONE ... ZERO ... ZERO ... ZERO.

Kevin has "confessed" to the fact that 561 of his 1,000 flights have been on what Tony Sorensen often refers to as "the Dark Side" (self launched motor glider flights).
