From
Barry McCarthy's email report on today's gliding operations at
Caboolture ...
“Oh
what a feeling”!
It
was great to see blue sky, no rain and a group of CGC Members
“straining at the bit” to just into the sky AND so we did with
a steady 5/8 knot S/E breeze blowing it was off to runway 12 which
had been mown by the Aero Club.
L2
for the day was Barry McCarthy, AEI Mick Maloney, “Tuggies”
Mike Grady & Peter John with Lynette McCarthy keeping things
“moving along” as Duty Pilot.
Our
two flyable aircraft IKW, GJY and Kevin Rodda’s GRV were used
and in total we managed fourteen (14) flights in total. Not a
great deal of useable lift around for most of the day but Chris
Weir did manage 42 minutes in the Club Libelle with the flight of
the day achieved by Kevin Rodda in his Ka6 at 1 hour 36 minutes.
“Speedy”
Gonzales did bring out that beautify little “Gal” of his but
on his first attempt to get into the air a spark plug problem sent
him back to his hanger. L
Much
was achieved during the day with Peter John, Eric Dickenson and
Karl Bodi successfully completing Annual Checks….Mick Maloney
gave our one AEI Passenger, Linda Carlson, an enjoyable
flight…Chris Weir and Karl Bodi both had good flights in the
Club Libelle with Alex Horvath and Dan Kershaw continuing their
Student training in the Twin Astir.
Statistics
for the day:-
IKW
3hours 19 minutes (9 flights)
GJY
1 hour 27 minutes (3 flights)
GRV
1 hour 58 minutes (2 flights)
Lynette
signed-up a NEW MEMBER…….so Mark Longden welcome to CGC.
Remember
we are flying MONDAY (tomorrow)…….so if you are at a “loose
end” come up to Cabooltue, get into the air and support your
Club.
Safe
flying.
