Congratulations
New
L2 - David Higgs

John Clayton (on right) signs David Higgs’ log book
after checking him out as CGC’s newest L2 Instructor
Ordinarily that would be enough good news for a Caboolture Saturday.
But
this Saturday just went on doubling the good news:
20 FLIGHTS!
The first 20 flight
Saturday in who knows how long
2 NEW MEMBERS!
Welcome Joel Christie
and Regan Lacey to the YCAB Pie Cart crowd
Needless to say it was a very good Saturday for the baker’s dozen
of members at the end of RWY 12 today
Duty Instructor David Griffiths took Joel Christie for his first two
training flights and later checked out Alex Horvath
AEI Neil Muspratt had three passenger flights including the best
two-seater time of 35 minutes
Karl Bodi and Ray Colley each had more than 20 minutes in IKW
Lindsay Mitchell gave GJY a thorough going over which lasted an hour
and two minutes (technical report to come from Lindsay later) before
handing the Libelle over to Duty Pilot Mike McCluskey
Eric Dickeson and I took some friends flying (yes we do both have
some non-gliding friends)
David Higgs exercised his new L2 powers on new member Regan Lacey
– who showed he hasn’t forgotten much about flying a glider in
the six years he’s been away from the sport – as well as turning
the plastic picnic table on JC:

after putting him through his annual check
AND
ALL HAIL THE
20 FLIGHT TUG PILOT!
Steve Chapman not only
flew all 20 launches for Saturday, he also volunteered to squander a
stack of his domestic brownie points by coming back to share the
towing with Karl Bodi on Sunday.
And if that’s not enough to get you out to the field:
Come
out and celebrate David Higgs’ first day as L2 Duty Instructor
And welcome the club’s third new member for the weekend when Seph
Flack rejoins after a long absence
See you there tomorrow
Garrett
Russell
For the Saturday Dozen Plus
(and Bert & Speedy who were as usual absent from the field for
hours)
