Wednesday @ Go For
Solo

Wednesday
was a complete
change of
atmosphere, brought
on by the southerly
change which put
enough wind straight
down runway 12 to
allow training
flights with the
instructor outside
the cockpit:

Despite
the atmosphere giving us
the first day of the
week with cumulus
clouds, the wind made it
hard to exploit the
lift. To prove that
point, Adam French once
again logged the longest
flight of the day, but
with exactly HALF his
Tuesday time – 26
minutes against 52!
There was also a change
of faces, with Kevin
Roden taking over as
instructor in charge and
John Ashford in the tug.
Trainees were Nick
Sheahon, David
Lillistone, Adam French,
Dan Kershaw – and Mick
Moloney (engaged in L1
instructor training with
JC).
The wind was great for
straight ahead rope
break training, so there
were several very short
flights to add to the
day’s entertainment.
13 flights all up, and
all but two of them in
GYK. Another big
training day, judged by
all present to be a
great success.
