We
started early enough today to get some good flights
logged before the sea breeze kicked in and we
finished early enough to allow the last minute
voters amongst us to fulfill their obligations on
the way home. At close of business we sent thru to
Kevin a tug sheet with 9 entries and a flight sheet
with 8 entries.
The wind couldn't quite make up it's mind throughout
the day and we started on 06, moved to 30 and
finally ended up back on 06 to finish. As expected
from Garrett's email this morning the ground was
still wet in places and caught us out on both
runways trying to set up the piecart.
Tow-out gear heavy duty style - Wayne Burgess helps
us get over some slippery ground on 06 ... |

Jason
Humrich joined us to continue his journey to solo
with more circuits and landing practice plus an
unexpected (for one of us) rope-break on climb-out.
Our first flight was over an hour and showed how
good the conditions were.
Mike McCluskey took advantage of an AEF-free day by
jumping in the Libelle for a leisurely 2 hour scoot
around the skies.
Waiting patiently through the early flights was John
Nestor, keen to set foot in the Libelle for the
first time. After deciding 2 hours in GJY was a good
innings Mike was called back and John set himself up
for the launch. It was his hat trick of recent
achievements following on from our Gympie visit last
weekend and was topped off with a textbook landing.
Great job John. |

Karl
Bodi joined us to share the hot conditions and Alan
Graham called in for a few minutes, sizing up the
conditions for his duties tomorrow.
In spite of the wind and warmth the Sunday crew will
need to tread warily as there were still some
puddles and muddy patches around at day's end.
Thanks everyone for a great day, and to John for the
quenching drinks shout (and Mark Thompson seemed to
enjoy his unintentionally glider-free launch and
circuit in SPA).
Regards,
