Localised rain Saturday

28-Mar-15

The text message from David Higgs to me at 6:47 am said ... "Seen BOM Radar? Talk about localised showers" .... and this is what he had been looking at ...

Unperturbed, I headed for Caboolture and about half way up the Bruce Highway it started to look ominous ...

Then it started to sprinkle  ...

Then it started to rain  ...

At YCAB the rain was heavy and relentless  ...

Facing a waterlogged airfield, David's 8:15 am email to members said ... "A very localised rain cell has flooded the airfield. Heavy rain and new lakes have made conditions 'less than ideal'. Flying postponed until Mick leads the way tomorrow".

Speedy arrived in time to join us for McSecond Breakfast. All was not lost however with Speedy and I spending a few hours sanding some more paint and corrosion off the IS-30's fuselage.
