know how pizza and video places have “two for” deals?
Like Two For Tuesdays?
Well today was Two For Saturday at Caboolture Gliding
Club.
There were two instructors, two tug pilots, two student
pilots, and that was it.
Garrett Russell and John Clayton took Tim Williams and
Hide Ogawa for five training flights (plus one AEF)
totalling 1:51, all towed by Tony Sorensen and Steve
Bowtell from RWY 24.
It could have been bigger. Four pre-solo pilots registered
instructor requests but only two came on the day. It’s a
pity because the SW wind, while strong enough to knock out
any thermals but not solid enough to generate really big
wave, did nonetheless offer a taste of wave flying and a
sparkling blue background for useful training flights.
All flights were in CQC and for those who want to see
photos, Nathan Bowtell has posted some great ones on
Facebook.
Thanks to all the Two Fors who made today so pleasant –
even sheltering in the lee of the pie cart was fun!
