... and Sunday was that for the Club.
Peter Stephenson with  Mike McCluskey (deep in thought?)
We only had 16 flights but the shortest was 19  minutes and the longest 1hr and 14 mins!  All three two seaters were in action and pilots had to be called down as there was so much lift around, even down to the tie-down flights with the last landing at 16:45hrs. We only had two AEF's and the rest were friends from Bill Haynes' fllying school Caboolture Recreational Flying caboolturerecreationalaviation.com.au
Alan Graham worked tirelessly all day - Peter John and Mike Grady in background
Excellent PR as they all enjoyed themselves and the ones I took up were impressed with how much we do in the air to stay up!
L13 Blanik (GYK) behind Piper Pawnee tug (SPA) lifting off on yet another passenger flight launch
One landing in the IS28 was an eye opener and a lesson to us all to never to relax  till the aircraft is at a stand still.   Chris Weir did a perfect two point landing but immediately he touched down at stall speed, a gust of wind took him up again, necessitating him to put away his air-brakes and touch down for a second time in the two point attitude!  I have never seen that before.  Of course I have seen it many a time when pilots do incorrect one point landings. :-( :-( :-(
Siesta time during the only break all day in the steady stream of passengers  - Mike Grady, Peter John, Mike McCluskey and Peter Stephenson (excellent use of the shady side of the van guys!)
Other than that surprise gust, the wind was pretty consistent down RWY12 at about 2 to 5knots, keeping us at a pleasant temperature.  We were treated to three takes offs of the Mustang and two high speed fly pasts! :-)

Meanwhile, back at the tie-down area, Lindsay Mitchell, Bert Persson and Speedy were hard at it maintaining the Libelle.  After operations, a few of us de rigged her and the wings are now in the container and  the fuselage in Kevin's hangar ready for more maintenance.  So their Sunday was not stupendous but we thank them for their essential services.

I was Duty Instructor, Chris Weir was the rostered AEI,  Mike Grady was the tuggie and Alan Graham the Duty Pilot. Peter John, Kevin Rodda, and Mike McCluskey also came along to assist in the stupendous day all round.  We managed to have the tug turned around and not shut down most of the day, but we ran out of passengers for a short period at lunch time.  Alan was an excellent Duty Pilot and needs to be commended.
The "Nanchang" red Suzuki was kept busy all day ferrying passengers from Caboolture Recreational Flying to the flight line at Runway 12
Bill: My Suzuki's absolutely full with toadstools. John: How do you know its full? Bill: 'Cos there's not mushroom inside! [with appropriate apologies to Lonnie Donegan ... "My Old Man's a Dustman"]

(standing in for Alan Graham in recognition of his great effort today ... and because the "longest flight of the flay pilot does the report" suggestion floated like a lead balloon!)
