A small but select group gathered first thing and DI 'ed the Blaniik and IS28, took them down to 12 for the day. Rupert Perry with 2 friends, Peter Krenskie and Julianto Gunarno, Charles Hoch, Bob Hainsworth, Shane Tuck, John Nestor with Anne, and Ken Mitchell. Barry McCarthy as L2, John Knox as Tuggy and Tony Sorensen with 2 hats. Soon joined by Neil Schaefer and Lisa Schaefer, whose first task for the day was to join the club and GFA. Obviously her family/friends flight with Neil last week was not too traumatic and she has caught the gliding bug.

Barry and Rupert took the IS28 for the first flight of the day for 20 minutes, the Blanik followed down to 12 after Bob completed the DI with Shane shadowing him around the aircraft. John Nestor and Shane took the Blanik for short solo flights while Ken and Tony continued Ken's conversion to the IS 28. Charles and Bob then jumped into the IS28 and managed to find some lift, though the strong wind forced them to leave a good thermal to head back upwind, the flight of the day was their flight of 27 minutes. Rupert almost matched that with 26 minutes, taking his friend Julianto in the Blanik, Bob and Charles had another go but only managed 19 minutes. Barry took Lisa for a couple of flights in the Blanik, they say you should never attempt to teach your own wife to drive, I suppose with flying that is even more true.

Neil Schaefer took 2 flights with Ken for simulated cable breaks in the IS 28, after which Ken was signed off on the aircraft, well done Ken.

Rupert's friend Peter never got a flight, but appeared to enjoy his day at the field. He probably would have flown, but we had a problem with a flat tail wheel on the tug which required a wheel change and cost us some time, thanks to Speedy who did most of the work changing the wheel.
