HI All,
A very enthusiastic ground crew gathered at the
airfield this morning and before we knew it we had GYK
& CQC undressed and we were off to runway 12.
There were a few new faces floating around today with
both Rupert Perry and Rod Wilson bringing along
friends for the day.
Despite the great looking skies today short flights
were the order of the day with most flights
being around that 20 minute mark!
With SPA in Karl Bodi’s capable hands, the
first flight for Mike McCluskey & Johannes
Helbrecht took off at 9:49. Johannes is currently on a
working holiday in Australia and was very keen to see
how things were done down under!
This flight was also the flight of the day at 1 hour
17 mins!!!
We were joined at 1100 by our 2 AEF participants
Maurice Tobias and Garry White, who both had short
(about 20 minutes each) but enjoyable flights under
Mike’s careful guidance.
Speedy came along about half way through the day and
was buzzing around in GYP for about 2 1/2 hours before
he joined the rest of us back on the ground.
Kevin Rodda arrived after lunch and got in 2 quick
flights in his K6 before we had a runway change to 06
at about 1430 ... where Ken Mitchell took off on the
last flight of the day landing at 1455.
Once the aircraft were back in their jammies and
safely tucked away for the night it was back into the
hanger for a well deserved cold drink!
Our day in brief:
CQC: 4 Flights – 2 hours 14
minutes
GYK: 6 Flights – 2 hours 2
minutes
GYP: 1 flight – 2 hours 38
minutes
GRV: 2 flights – 40 minutes
It was a great day at the airfield today – very hot
though!! A few of us felt the effects of the heat
today!!
Safe & Happy flying everyone!
Cheers
