Sharon
and I arrived Wednesday and were "living the
dream" in the Campervan at Kybong Airfield ...
until we were washed out and headed for home on
Friday morning. I did however have an enoyable
flight in Gympie's Junior (XOP) late on Wednesday
afternoon ... 30 minutes of fun from some late
afternoon lift to the southwest of the
airfield.
Ken
Mitchell arrived early Friday morning after
surviving "heavy rain, hail, traffic jams,
cloud base down to ground level, crashes,
intersections that looked like lakes" etc, etc,
only to find that gliding operations had been
cancelled for the day. Even more disappointing for
Ken was the fact that he only had Friday available
for gliding! On the positive side however, before
heading for home he commented ... "the
cup of tea was excellent and the company
scintillating ... worth the
trip!"
Wednesday
late afternoon: How to stack gliders in a hangar
Gympie-style. Seven gliders ... to retrieve cars ...
...
and our tug!
Getting
the tug out of the weather was the objective ... and
this was achieved with ease under the expert
direction of Gympie's Trevor Burke and Ray
Parker!
