A
booming albeit quiet day, the Sunday crew arrived to
thermals already
forming
above the field. Peter Stephenson, Neil Muspratt, Mike
Grady and
myself
were joined by Chris Weir and Air Cadet Bailey Seymour
in setting up
the
day. No less than 3 gliders being DI'd to take
advantage of the
favourable
conditions.
Peter
and Bailey set off in the Blanik by 9:30 on Bailey's
first flight
with
CGC, setting the bar high with 40 minutes. Chris was
second in line
with
GJY, and was perfectly happy to disappear for the
entire morning
racking
up flight of the day at 2 hours 24 minutes.
Subsequent
training flights kept Peter, Bailey and the Blanik
busy all
morning,
while Neil's nephew Alexander came for a flight with
his uncle in
CQC
just before lunch. All gliders were back on their way
to the tie-down
area
by 12:30, and all packed up by lunchtime.
