G'day,

In contrast to yesterday's clear skies, today began rather cloudy, and stayed that way.  Duty Crew consisted of Peter John - L2, Kevin Rodda - AEI, Karl Bodi - Tug Pilot and I.  We were joined early by Chris Weir, Alan Graham, Rod Wilson and Kevin Rodda and somewhat later by Rodrigo Romero (friend of Chris), Richard Sampson (our AEF), Danielle Grist (friend of Rod) and Speedy.

Meanwhile Bernard "speedy" Gonsalves had Kevin Rodda's KA6 (GRV) on its way to the flight line

Flying got underway just after 10am with Alan Graham taking "passenger" Peter John for a 28 minute flight in CQC.  Following flights were with real passengers Danielle, Richard and Rodrigo and their respective pilots Rod, Rod and Chris (Richard being a rather larger lad could not fly with Kevin).

Alan Graham being congratulated by Peter John after receiving his passenger rating (the $50 note didn't sway PJ's assessment at all ... and Alan claimed it was only for his lunch order anyway!)

The 5th launch, just after midday, was Speedy; not in any of his own aircraft but in GRV for an evaluation flight.  I didn't see his evaluation checklist but it must've been huge because he did not come back till we were packing up the other gliders over 2 hours later.

Today's fleet ... IS-30 (GQA), KA6 (GRV) and Blanik L-13 (GKY) at the flight line and IS-28 (CQC) already launched

PJ launches Speedy in GRV, her first flight since Feb'11 (at 50+ years old she still has some style!)

The day was wrapped up with hangar/solo flights.  Kevin Rodda in GQA for 23 min, myself in CQC for 48 min and Chris Weir in GYK for 41 min.

Stats in brief:
CQC, 3 for 1:36
GYK, 2 for 1:15
GQA, 2 for 0:56
GRV, 1 for 2:10

Cheers and happy soaring,
