Sunday started off a cold, windy, yet clear blue skied day which probably resembled Saturday in many ways.

I arrived at the airfield to find the day's crew consisting of Peter Stephenson (DI), Mick Moloney (L1) and Simon Descovich (under the weather DP).

Additionally Bob Hainsworth was under the Barina fitting a new exhaust and Chris Weir and friend Tom were also there bright and early for some long awaited flying.

With gusty winds blowing from the west we headed down to runway 24 to commence the days operations. Shortly after setting up, our Cessna 180 tow plane arrived, piloted by Andrew from Boonah.

Unfortunately as mentioned above Simon wasn't feeling too great, so we insisted that he should probably go home and generally everyone will chip in as DP for the day.

First flight of the day was Chris and Tom who experienced 10 knot lift (wave) and had to use airbrakes to stay under 4500 ft.

Peter Stephenson was next off the rank with passenger Rosalyn for leisurely 47min birthday flight, still taking advantage of the wave.

Dave Crocker arrived a little later in the morning to continue his training with Mick Moloney, clocking up 4 flights in Yankee Kilo and getting some good experience in the rough conditions.

Peter Stephenson and myself went for a check flight/outlanding simulation which was good fun! And Speedy launched the K6 for an 8 minute flight.....before re-launching for a 79min flight (of the day).

After a solo by myself and a tie down solo for Bob it was time to pack up and call it another weekend at YCAB.

Thanks to everyone for their efforts.

Flight stats:
GYK: 35mins @ 4 flights
CQC: 155mins @ 5 flights

GSR: 87mins @ 2 flights

Cheers,

Thanks Dan for the report.

Yes, it was the best wave flight at YCAB that I have had.

I saw Bert take off for another dose of wave flying too.

Absolutely great week-end.

Thanks committee for hiring the tug from Boonah.
