Needless to say the first order of business today was getting CQC out of the trailer and on to the flight line. That’s a pretty big start to any day and we were so busy there are no photos to commemorate the event. The roll call of those involved should give you the picture:

Lindsay Mitchell, Bob Turner, Barry McCarthy, Kevin Rodda, Arthur Mailey, Judith Smith, Ken Mitchell, Ray Sharkey, David Robinson, Hideaki Ogawa, Garrett Russell.

While that lot were thus engaged, Karl Bodi prepared SPA and Bob Hainsworth did the same for GQA.

Back to the re-rigging party.

Were you sharp enough to spot the new names in that list? One is David Robinson (see photo in Judith’s recently published report on last FridaY) ... two other new faces did not escape the camera today:

Ray Sharkey has been around for a couple of months and now finally gets his mug on the new members page of the website (sorry for the delay, Ray).

Hideaki Ogawa is brand new as of this morning and if you’re finding his name a bit of a mouthful you can call him Hide (which conveniently rhymes with Ray).

Now on to the flying ... 13 flights all up for GQA, CQC and GRS. Flight of the day went to Barry at 44 minutes (no prizes for guessing in what). David Robinson enjoyed 33 minutes under instruction from L2 Bob Turner, and six other flights were over the 20 minute mark.

However, in the midst of all that activity, one CGC member took a flight which got everyone else’s attention even though it had nothing to do with gliding:

Bert Persson seemed to enjoy his second test flight of the beautifully restored Gypsy Moth VH-ULM, and our congratulations on a job very well done!
Thus ended a pretty big Friday for a pretty big Friday crew.
And that ends this report, except for a lost property notice:

A jumper and a carry bag with the tag 187 LCV are now waiting in Hangar 22 to be claimed by their owner.
That’s all, folks
