No flying due to
unavailability of the tug did not mean no operations at
Caboolture Gliding Club today.
Maintenance ops were in full
swing all day at the tie down line as Lindsay Mitchell,
Speedy Gonsalves and David Guzzwell worked on completing
Blanik GYK’s Form 2.
They had plenty of bright
light to work in.
So did Bert Persson as he
reassembled GXQ’s empennage to complete that Blanik’s
Llewellyn modification.
The result: as of the next
flying day the club should have two operational
Blaniks – one on line for training flights, the other in
reserve for instant deployment as soon as the first comes
off line.

Meanwhile, not far away, there
were more members busy with other club ops:
It’s a shame there were not
more trainees to soak up Mick Moloney’s wisdom along with
Andrew Crowley and Tash South at the Duty Pilot Induction
Session. Well done to our two newest Pie Cart Captains!
But what is our newest Form 2
Inspector (David Guzzwell) doing the wrong way around in
that cockpit?
Just demonstrating that there
is no limit to the depths some of your fellow members will
go to in order to keep the rest of us up in the air!
Thanks to all the dedicated
crew who made our non-flying ops so successful today.
