Considering
that every member at the Pie Cart today was there
expressly to share the joy of flying our Older &
Bolder passengers, the sky was a highly appropriate
colour. Grey. All day.
|
|
|
|
But
that did not dampen the enthusiasm on either side of
the passenger/pilot equation, as the brief photo
report shows below.
|
|
|
|
Just
seven flights for seven passengers in GYK (3/1:09) and
CQC (4/1:30). Average flight time of 22 minutes tells
the full story on the day’s soaring conditions, as
well as the reason there were no member flights. And
everyone got home comfortably dry, with the possible
exception of David Higgs. See below!
|
|
|
|
Thanks
to tug pilot Mike Grady, duty pilot Alex Horvath and
volunteer Alan Graham for keeping David Higgs, Lindsay
Mitchell, Kevin Rodda, Mick Moloney and me in the air
with our new friends of the sky-coloured hair (well,
some of them anyway).

Marian
Missingham was so happy because she’d just patted
Loki

Sirikul
Shearn was happy because she’d just patted Kevin

Tom
Bakker was happy because he thought we were sending
him solo

Trish
Templir looked a lot happier about 22 minutes after
this was taken

Vicki
Lord was happy to know both glider and pilot were
about as old and bold as she is

David
Higgs may be happy right now - if he completed his 2.5
hour ride home before the rain!
