Subject: Sunday Soaring... sort of...
To: cgcmemlist@vicnet.net.au
Hi all,
Despite the favourable conditions today and a rather
enthusiastic ground crew, Sunday Soaring just
wasn’t meant to be.
With TOJ in Mike Grady’s capable hands we
undressed both GYK and CQC and off we went onto a
muddy 30. After
the first small hiccup with TOJ, Lindsay Mitchell
was up and away in CQC with the first AEF of the
day, taking off at 1143.
Shortly thereafter Mick Moloney and Theo Mus were up
in GYK (this was the flight of the day at 35 mins).
It
was looking like it was going to be a great
afternoon of flying, Bernard “Speedy” Gonsalves
was lined up behind TOJ and ready to roll, there
were two more AEF passengers eagerly awaiting their
flight when disaster struck... the tail wheel of TOJ
snapped off and promptly put an end to the day’s
operations.
Last flight landing
at 1237, once everything was packed up and the
gliders in their "jamas" it was off to
McDonalds for a coffee.
Better luck next
week!
So stats for today
are:
CQC – 1 flight 24
mins
GYK – 1 flight 35
mins
Cheers,
