It was
very hot at YCAB at 8-00 a.m. today and it got
even hotter as the day progressed.
Those
present included Duty Instructor L2 Garrett
Russell assisted by L2 Tony Sorenson...in SPA were
“Tuggies” John Knox (am) and Steve Bowtell
(PM)...others braving the heat included Judith
Smith, Jason Humrich, Ken Mitchell, Bob
Hainsworth, Shane Tuck ,Barry McCarthy with visits
from Bob Turner and Kevin Rodda.
Garrett,
Barry, Bob and Lyn McCarthy “disappeared” into
Hangar 81 and were then seen putting the Wings on
the ES-KA6(GRS) which had not been on the Flight
Line since Oct,14.
With
“blue sky” and not a cloud in sight we
pushed-on and managed to have the first flight in
the air by 09-41 am but by 12-30p.m. the best
flight time managed was only 22 minutes by Barry
in the ES-KA6 (GRS)....BUT at...14-10pm a
“big black cum” drifted over the field for
about one hour with Tony and Shane recording 37
minutes...THEN...at 14-25pm Garrett launched in
GRS and recorded the flight of the day at 1 hour
03 minutes.
Arthur
Mailey completed his Annual Flight Check to the
satisfaction of L2 Tony, Garrett continued Jason
Humrich’s training, Bob Hainsworth was
“brushing-up” his Back Seat flying and Shane
Tuck was enjoying some Back Seat Training.
Ken
Mitchell, Judith Smith and Barry Mc all managed to
get into the air only to find the sky full of
SINK.
Statistics
for the day tell their own story.
