To all those people who looked out the window this morning and decided to say home ... Alan Graham would like to send you a great big thank you!!!!!!!

Only the duty crew were on hand today. Peter John as L2 and part time tuggie. Yours truly as L1. Karl Bodi towing us around the skies. Lindsay Mitchell AEI and DI instructor with Alan Graham as Duty Pilot. Noted absence was out assistant DP.

What started out as a bleak uninviting day, turned out to be a beautiful winter's day with ample lift.

Since Alan was the only person wanting to fly and an entire duty crew at his disposal, he was all but relieved of his Duty Pilot duties to avail himself of the rare resource. And what did he do with those resources you might well ask? I have prepared a list:

Daily Inspector - metal ... passed off
Rear seat jockey - CQC ... passed off
Outlanding check ... passed off
'C' Certificate ... just around the corner.

Well done Alan!! You worked hard today and it paid off.

Its not very often that an L1 (me) gets to sit in the front seat and take photos.

AEI (and fearless leader) Lindsay Mitchell, took our air experience passenger for a 4,500ft flight. Nigel took the controls from release and basically flew the rest of the flight. When I left for a flight with Alan, I could see he was addicted already, so you will probably see him back! Nigel's brother-in-law was equally hooked and didn't even fly! So hopefully two new members.

Super Dimona JLL joins us for a bit of thermaling fun.

All in all, a great day was had by all. Cloudbase was relatively low at 2,000ft, but the thermals were close together, which enabled some very pleasant flights. Stats for the day:

CQC       4 flights                1hr 42mins

Flight of the day: Alan Graham @ 40mins.

Just another example of bleak days turning into Great days!!!!

Welcome to gliding!

Safe flying,
