CGC conducted dual operations today on opposite sides of the Caboolture Airfield fence.

Airside, the duty crew prepared GYK for a day’s flying from a delayed start.
Inside the aero club meeting room was the reason for the delay:
around twenty members and guests gathered for our first ever Saturday morning AGM.

Make that twenty-one.

With the 10 am meeting time approved by an all-but-unanimous majority of those present, mark it in your diary for a repeat performance this time next year. And make a note to nominate yourself or another member for committee. It will be great to see a contested vote for a change!
Almost as great as the appreciation throughout the room for this year’s John Sharman Award recipient:

Another unanimous decision, this
time in favour of Bert Persson for the endless and mostly unheralded hours he continues to put in to caring for our club and gliders. Bert has even promised to give the trophy Blanik a Form 2 while he has it in his care!

While the social side of the AGM got underway with sausages and drinks provided by Kevin and Sharon Rodda, the day’s crew went dutifully off to the flight line.
Their aerial exploits will be covered in the PART 2 report.
In the meantime, can you recognise the guest picking up on flying from where he left off some time ago?
