all,
Apologies
in the delay in getting this out!
A
warm Saturday greeted us as we arrived and got
ourselves sorted. As there
were
only a few of us, it was decided that we only needed
GYK for the day.
Once
we were organised we ventured out to 30, with SPA in
Steve Chapman’s
capable
hands. Student Theo Mus and DI David Higgs took off
on the first
flight
of the day shortly after at 9:42. Ashton Grieve was
next in line and
completed
his first successful landing. Around mid
morning Speedy joined us
for
a flight in GQA and took of on what was to be the
flight of the day with
1
hour 19 mins – Nice work Speedy!
Unfortunately
a wind change that had us moving across to 06 also
brought the
smoke
from Bribie and by 11:30 visibility was pretty much
gone. After
another
2 very short local flights, the days operations were
cancelled at
1330.
Once
everything was packed up and GYK was tucked safely
away, it was back to
the
hanger to complete paperwork and partake in a well
deserved cold
drink!!!!
Overall
short flights were the order of the day;
GQA
1 Launch - 1 hour 19 mins
GYK
5 launces - 1 hour 37 mins
