Hi
all
Looking
out of Sunshine Coast window this morning at 7am
I was greeted by rain and very overcast skies.
Regardless,
I dutifully set off for the field and arrived
just before 8am to find that Rupert Perry had
already unwrapped the twin and completed the DI
… now that’s what I call keen ...

The
crew for the day consisted of yours truly as AEI, Karl
Bodi pulling us into the air, Rod Wilson as duty pilot
and Dave Donald as our fearless leader/instructor.
With
very overcast skies and a low cloud base, and after a
quick phone conversation with Garrett Russell, we
decided to postpone my one AEI flight for the day –
hopefully to a day with better conditions.

Even
with overcast skies, with Duty Crew on hand, we
decided that Rupert and I would take a flight each …
in the end the flight sheet had a grand total of 3
entries. The durations of 17 and 18 mins
reflected the absence of lift.
Rupert
took a power pilot friend up (I think Rupert said he
flew FoxBats) ...

After
our first launch from 06, with the cross wind picking
up, we moved to 12
Ironically,
as we wrapped up the Twin Astir just before lunch, the
conditions were looking (briefly) better and cu’s
were starting to form … unfortunately very dark
looking clouds were following right behind them.

Fingers
