Sunday morning dawned clear and fresh. Tony Sorensen, L2, and Neil Schaefer, Tug, were at the airfield when I arrived to fill the AEI role. We were joined soon after by Jason Humrich and Chris Weir. Rod Elsworth was the rostered DP for the day however he rang me early and as he was physically indisposed he thought it best he didn't attend as it could be quite a distance to the "facilities". Garrett had us booked initially for 1 AEI flight, then 2, then 4 with the possibility of 6. The plan failed as the last 2/4 failed to show up.

Jason and Chris stepped up to the DP role and we took the Blanik and Twin to RW30 where we stayed all day. We were soon joined by Karl Bodi. James Moloney, a AAFC Cadet, visited with his mother Becky. James has a AAFC Scholarship so we should see more of him when his AACF paperwork is finalised. Karl took James for 2 Experience flights and also Becky. Karl must have done something right as Becky is very keen to learn gliding. Her enthusiasm was boosted by an early afternoon visit by Jo Wooler. Jo will never miss a chance to sell our great sport to any member of the fairer sex and she did a good sell on CGC and gliding to Becky. Thanks Jo. Jo is also a regular participant in the annual Women in Gliding week.

Back to the start of the day and Jason had 2 flights with Tony and then his first solo in the Blanik. There was a short wait while the Mustang took off with it's usual gusto.

Jason later had 2 more solo flights including the last fight of the day when he held off for a very good ground effect run for about half of RW24.   Well done Jason.

Meanwhile Chris Weir had 2 friends come to fly and I flew the 2 passenger flights. As Mick mentioned in his Saturday report, winter can be a great soaring time of the year and all the Sunday flights were good and took advantage of the clear conditions.    My 2 pax flights were for 38 and 49 minutes. Mick Moloney also visited us again with his grandson Jett. It was suggested he was giving Jett's mother a Mothers Day break but he really was collecting his hand held radio he left on Saturday.

The day did not finish quietly however. Jo could not resist using the shredded Blanik covers to "dress up" Karl and Tony.

She also got me as well but thankfully the photo she took was blurred to much to publish.

Chris also found the caravan dolly in the grass near our usual RW30 park.  It looks like it has been hit by the mower so may not be useable.   A reminder for everyone to look after the club things and have a quick look at all times for gear lying around.

The days statistics.    13 flights for 4:55.
                    IKW        5 flights for 2:32.
                     GYK       8 flights for 2:23

Thanks to Neil for getting us into the air, Tony for overseeing operations and especially Chris and Jason for their Duty Pilot efforts.

Have safe fun flying,
