The weather was looking much better Sunday but I wasn’t so optimistic about the tug.

Although, on arrival at the airfield I was greeted by a number members committed  to getting the Pawnee flying that day.

These people included, Steve Bowtell, Garrett (Duty Instructor), Peter John(Instructor), Lindsay(AEI) and Mike Grady(Tug Captain).

Thank you all for your efforts.

Turns out the alternator isn’t charging the battery properly so leaving the battery on charge over night was enough to get 4 flights in CQC.

These flights included a check flight for myself with PJ, an AEF flight for 15yo Alisha’s birthday (also flight of the day at 37mins), a check flight for Alex Horvath with Garrett Russell and the last flight of the day was a short solo by myself.

Other flights worth noting were Speedy and Bert who self launched at approximately midday, they were not seen again as most of us had gone home by 1430, so I assume they both had good flights.

Bert mentioned Saturday that he won’t bother unless he can go cross-country so I suggest that’s what he did Sunday.

A big thanks to David Guzwell who spent both days at the airfield (only flying one day) unselfishly helping out with the operations, also to everyone including Steve Bowtell for doing everything possible to keep the Pawnee flying for most of the weekend. A good example of “club spirit” and everyone pitching in to make it all possible.

CQC: 71 mins/4 flights

Thanks Dan for your double report – and for being too modest to mention that you were doing double Duty Pilot duty to fill gaps in the roster. More great club spirit keeping us in the air!
