Cool
damp Saturday |
09-Jun-14 |
Another
cold damp start to the day.
I
got through McBreakfast early and managed to
get the 28 unwrapped before our L2 for the day
Bob Turner arrived.
Band
for the day were Bob on lead vocals, Neil
Muspratt on guitar, Rod Wilson on bass and
Mark Thompson on drums. Alan Graham, and myself
provided the backing vocals.
We
finished DI'ing the 28, arranged some drifter
time for later in the day, and I popped off to
Aldi to get some motorbike goodness.
Covers
were secured with tyres and left out in the
sun to dry.
I
got back in time to walk behind the caravan as
it was towed out to 12.
It
didn't look like the bestest of best
days.
There
was scattered cloud from about 2000 but there
were a few blue holes about ... nothing that
promised an abundance of lift.
Neil's
pax had pulled out so it was down to those
there to ponder the situation and figure out
what we wanted to do.
I
mentioned that I wanted to continue to learn
some unusual attitude flight, and so Bob
secured Bert as an instructor for me at 11.
Bob
gave Rod a check flight and they had a 16
minutes.
Bob
and Mark discuss Check Flight capers ...
I’m
going to call this an artistic shot ...
I
had an excellent instructional session, very
enjoyable. Another 16 minutes.
Bert
came across bang on 11:00am
...
The
28 got a good clean out, flies surprisingly well
upside down; after you get used to how horrible it
feels!
The
last flight was another check, this time for Karl.
He managed to beat us all and get through his in 14
minutes.
I
deserted the crew to go fly the drifter - and
everyone came by to inspect the flying broomstick
and pass comment.
Thanks
guys, very helpful, not at all distracting. :)
A
good day productive day.
Great
for me, thanks!
