Today
saw an enthusiastic crowd gathered at the
airfield: Kevin Dobbie, Alan Graham, Shane
Burgess, Dave Higgs and Rod Wilson. While we
awaited the arrival of our tuggie, the Pie Cart
and Blanik were towed out to runway 12 where we
battled with the wind to set up the shade-cloth,
table and chairs

Aviating
commenced with Rupert Perry taking up friend
Kathryn East for flight of the day of 26 minutes.
Dave Emes (friend of Rod Wilson) arrived and Rod
took him up, which I’m sure he thoroughly
enjoyed. Kevin Dobbie took a training flight with
Dave Higgs, in which they had some fun doing some
spins (I’m sure if they hadn’t done the spins
they could have scored flight of the day!).

Speedy
then turned up with the Kookaburra stating that,
“Today looks like a Kookaburra day, and it would
be if there wasn’t so much wind!”. He and
friend Danny Vanderwalle then took the Kookaburra
for a fly. This was soon followed by Shane Burgess
going for a training flight with Dave Higgs, while
Rupert Perry scored a flight in the Kookaburra
with Speedy! Shane Burgess and Dave Higgs then
took the final flight of today, which was so when
Higgsy called in to tell me that there were
showers all around, and we called it quits from
there.
