This could
be a first for CGC ... an apparently well organised
(not) race between Duty Instructor and Duty Pilot to get the
report in first ... and the winner is ... [insert
appropriate drum roll here] ... Alex

Slow
start Sunday turning to
a non-stop day with Peter Stephenson, Rod Wilson, Karl
Bodi, Ashton Greive and his Dad, myself and Liam Dale
and his Dad to get things started with GYK ...
followed by Mick Moloney, Dave Crocker, and new
member on the day Sam Court (Sam being short for
Samantha) who all teamed up to get CQC out.

We
were joined by Joe Harris (taking up short term
membership until he goes back to England).
Peter
Stephenson and Mick Moloney kept both gliders busy
with training flights.
Flight
stats ... 7 for GYK (1hr 19 mins), 4 for CQC (1hr 1 min) as well one launch for Speedy
Gonsalves in GSR
and two for Kevin Rodda in WUC.
Flight
of the day of 26 min goes to Kevin Rodda who managed
to gain a 100th of a second longer
in ground effect by leaving his wheel up in his
Schweizer 1-35 whilst being chased by a hungry twin on
its 3rd attempt at landing.

And
best predicted flight of the day goes to Speedy in his
K6 who was 1 min over his predicted flight time of
10 mins.
Good
to see Speedy, Bert Persson and Kevin out there ...
they do a lot behind the scenes ... not to forget
Chris Weir working on the Club Libelle trailer too ...
and welcome to Sam Court.

Sunday 7/7/2013 was an excellent day for training and it
was taken advantage of by Ashton Greive, David Crocker
and brand new member Sam(antha) Court (welcome Sam)
who had three flights each. Had Mick Moloney not
turned up, this would not have happened: a big
"thank you" to Mick!
Possible
member Liam Dale had an AEF with Rod Wilson and Joe
Harris had a flight with Mick too.
Speedy
had an 11 minute flight which must be a record for him
from 2500 feet!
Kevin
Rodda had two flights, one of which was the flight of
the day cracking 26 minutes in his orange rocket.

On
Kevin's last landing, we were amused on the flight
line by a speedy Spam-can or Stink-wing racing around
the circuit at 100 knots+ only to do a go around four
times, just because he was not slowing down to fit in
with the other aircraft in the circuit! He
finally stopped cluttering up the circuit after
Kevin's landing.
All
our flights in the Blanik and IS28 were well organised
by rostered Alex Horvath (on his first solo stint as
as DP). Well done Alex who didn't manage to get
a flight.
Karl
Bodi was stand-in tuggie in TOJ and thanks for coming
Karl to do the 14 flights. The rumour mill says
SPA should be back soon. :-)
Meanwhile
Chris Weir was welding away on the Libelle's trailer
which will be 100% better once he has finished. A
big job that will be well done.
So:
it was a great day!
