As a result of the Chinese gods of Fung and Shui I again merged with the Saturday crew of Mick Moloney, Kevin Rodda, Rod Wilson and Steve Bowtell.  We were joined by Lindsay Mitchell, Wayne Burgess with his friend Paul Pradhan, and non-fliers Speedy and Mike McCluskey.

We were a bit short of tow-out vehicles as neither the Magna nor Bert's Barina would start and the keys for the usual Barina were nowhere to be seen.

The blue skies of the morning became more inviting as the cumulus appeared but then there was too much cumulus and the first flight of the day, myself in the Libelle, became the longest flight of the day at 24 minutes.  Perhaps we should have launched earlier.  The second flight was a check flight for Wayne in the Twin Astir.

A quick healthy lunch for Lindsay Mitchell

Next were Lindsay and Rod familiarising themselves with that aircraft.

After lunch another short flight by myself in the Libelle then Kevin Rodda took a solo in the Twin.

Steve Bowtell, Mick Moloney, Paul Pradhan and Wayne Burgess.

Steve, Mick and Wayne grouped around Paul waiting for Wayne to take Paul for two short Blanik flights which closed the flying day.

Speedy very generously gave me a hand putting the covers on the Libelle: he was taking a break while waiting for paint to dry and afterwards joined us in Kevin's hangar for drinks.  Mike McCluskey and his two boys helped to moor and cover the Twin but did not stay for drinks.

Lindsay had, during the week, repaired the wheel of the Blanik dolly and has now taken the wheel of the Libelle dolly for repair.  To prove that bad things come in threes one of the wheels came off a wheelie bin and there seemed to be no way of securing it back on.  I suspect that there is a hidden circlip which has come off and hidden itself in the grass.  Joke:- Where's ya been?; I's bin everywhere; Yes, but where's ya really been?; I's wheelie bin in prison.  End of joke, it sounds better in a Strilian accent.

Stats were Libelle, 2 flights, 45 minutes; Astir Twin, 3 flights, 42 minutes; Blanik, 2 flights, 21 minutes

Our thanks to Steve Bowtell who departed for Toowoomba on family business after tugging all day, and my thanks to Kevin Rodda for the photos.

Best regards,
