Sunday’s
gliding activities bore a strong resemblance to
those reported from Friday by Judith – a modest
turnout of members influenced no doubt by the
recency of DDSC, the onset of the silly season,
the attendance of a number of our regulars at the
Caboolture Aero Club AGM, and the predicted wet
weather. The last element did not in fact
eventuate, and while conditions initially appeared
quite favourable, most of us had more success
finding sink rather than lift. Thus we
headed of to 30 with only CQC in tow.
Mark
Thompson tested the air for us with a 28 minute
flight, after which I put in a modest 21 minute
effort in Mark’s company.
Our
group was briefly joined by Tyson, a young pilot
who has moved from South Australia and who dropped
in to check out the club.
Mick
Moloney and Rupert Perry then put in the day’s
best effort at 48 minutes. Mike McCluskey
treated wife Kim to a flight, but Kim’s alleged
curse as the “Queen of Sink” came to the fore
and they returned to 06 after only 20 minutes.
Kevin
Rodda then shared the hangar flight with Mick.
Our thanks to Karl Bodi for performing tug duties.
Overall
stats for the day - 5 flights for a total of 2hrs
33 mins.
A
reminder that Sunday 21 December will be the
28’s last day in service so please plan to join
us for what will be a nostalgic occasion.
