Hi
all,
First
of all, apologies for not getting this out sooner.
Secondly,
you've not missed much by my lack of reporting.
Saturday
started off with the arrival of the duty crew and a
couple of hopeful Ka6 owner/pilots in the form of
Alex Hovarth and Speedy. Early discussions
between Duty Instructor Kevin Roden, Duty AEI Rod
Wilson, Tuggie Karl Bodi and myself indicated that
we were only going to need one aircraft for the day
and CQC was selected for DI. At about that
time New Member Theo Mus arrived with his parents
and the final touches were made to Theo's membership
paperwork.
Paperwork
complete, aircraft prepared and van made ready, we
proceeded to 12 for the days flying operations.
Rod Wilson's friend (our only scheduled AEF passenger)
arrived just as Kevin Roden launched with Theo in
the front seat for his first ever glider flight and
lesson. Rupert Perry also arrived then but
unfortunately departed with a headache before adding
any more hours to his log. Rod then took
friend and passenger for a flight which was followed
by the launch of first Alex and then Speedy in their
Ka6 aircraft.
A
quick break following some interested walk-ins
(initially thought to have been looking for Pacific
Soaring) saw Theo take to the sky again with Kevin
Roden but a third flight was discounted after a
minor stomach upset. That saw us packing up at
around 14:30 after my sinuses failed to clear,
precluding my own chances of flying the day.
CQC:
3 launches for 99 minutes.
Note,
I did see Alex and Speedy on the ground at some
point while we were packing up, but did not manage
to record their landing times, both were recorded as
TO launches. I also failed to take a copy of
the flight sheet so all events for the day are taken
from memory.
Cheers,

David
