Well
done Alex! |

| From
Judith Smith's report for Friday 04-Jan-13 ... |
| Bert Persson
launched in Alex Horvath’s Ka6, XOF, for its
check and took honours for the longest flight of
the day at 1.10 after which Alex was keen
to try it for himself with a 15 min flight.
Urged on by Bert and Speedy and with the wind
still blowing but swinging to the north Alex
took his second flight off 12 and landed on 06. By the time everyone had arrived there and
packed everything away, we were content to pause
for a little re-hydration in the cool of
Kevin’s hangar where Alex received
everyone’s congratulations and talk turned to
reminiscences and the day’s exploits, in
particular, those of the Ka6 fraternity. |

| From
David Guzzwell's report for Saturday 05-Jan-13 ... |
| Note,
I did see Alex and Speedy on the ground at some
point while we were packing up, but did not manage
to record their landing times, both were recorded as
Tow Only launches. |
|
("Speedy"
has confirmed that Alex flew for over 2 hours while
his flight in GSR was 1:55) |

Subject: Well done
Alex |
| I would like to
Congratulate Alex for what he has achieved in the
last couple of weeks ... off daily checks and into his
own single seat Ka6 and now an over two hour flight. |
|
I would also like to
congratulate all the instructors who taught him. |
|
They did a good job and can be proud of themselves
and their student. Alex
flew with me today in some strong and testing
conditions and he handled his aircraft very well. I
was impressed. |
| Well
done all you instructors. |
| I am sure Alex is
grateful. |
| Cheers, |
 |
| Speedy
|
| |
| Webmaster's
note ... |
| Speedy
(and Bert) very much understate their generosity in
terms of encouragement, skill and experience in
assisting CGC members who have made the venture into
vintage/classic gliders (eg: Steve Chapman with his
Schneider Arrow, Barry McCarthy and Garrett Russell
with their Schneider KA6, Alex with his Schleicher
Ka6 and me with my Schneider KA6 and Schweizer
1-35). Their input, encouragement and support in
these projects has been nothing short of
spectacular! |
