Mike McCluskey's 9:19 am "yes we're flying" photo emailed from YCAB this morning.

A small but productive turnout on a fine but rather gusty day, under the leadership of Duty Instructor Kevin Roden (apparently on day release from Gympie Gliding Club), Steve Bowtell in SPA, and Mike McCluskey looking after AEFs.

We were joined by Peter Stephenson and in view of the limited numbers elected to DI the IS-28 only.

With the dolly for CQC under repair, CQC was manoeuvred  to 06 and after an eleven minute flight in the hands of Messrs Roden and McCluskey landed on 12 from where we conducted the day’s activities.

Mike then took our two AEFs Penny Grigor and Nestor Avendano on flights of 33 and 13 minutes respectively.

Meanwhile Alan Graham dropped off a rejuvenated dolly for CQC which made proceedings considerably easier – thanks Alan!

Kevin Rodda decided to try his luck in the KA6 and was rewarded with a 51 minute flight – the day’s best effort for unpowered aircraft.  (Speedy was only able to manage about an hour and a half in the K14 – how bad is that!)

Mike’s better half Kim arrived and was treated to a 41 minute flight.

With deteriorating conditions, flying for the day ended with a check flight for Peter back to 06.

 Stats for the day:

5 flights in CQC for a total of 1hr 54mins

1 flights in GRV for 51 mins

Two additional comments:

1.  I have audited the contents of the first aid kit and restocked it to the appropriate standard.  If you use any items, please advise me so that they can be replaced in a timely manner.

2.  Kevin Rodda and I had difficulty printing out the day’s documentation… that is, until we removed the key and key ring lodged in the paper feed at the rear of the printer!

Safe flying
