Hi all,

Sorry for the delay.

Saturday started out bright and clear, a most refreshing change from smoke, smog and heavy cloud, and it stayed that way all day.

Most of the Duty Crew were already busy when I arrived at around 7:45 and consisted of:
L2 - Garrett Russell
AEI - Kevin Rodda
Tuggie - Mark Thompson

Unfortunately there was no sign of fellow Duty Pilot Shaun Twomey all day.

GYK and CQC were selected and prepared for the day's flying requirements.  Theo Mus, Rupert Perry, Rod Wilson, Speedy and Alex Horvath were also on hand as ant-clearing operations and other tasks were carried out ... after which Speedy and Alex disappeared to prepare a third glider for flight, Alex's own K6, XOF.

Flying commenced from RWY - 24 at 10:04 with Rod Wilson persuading friend Gary Smith for a taste of soaring ...

... and Kevin Rodda took Kevin O'Brien (a YCAB-based gyro pilot and a key member of the Aero Club's mowing team) for a flight .

The local airspace got rather busy with a few powered pilots insisting the weather was not "inclement" enough to justify the use of 24 and sticking to 30 instead, causing the occasional conflicting circuit and some takeoff and taxiing issues.  The AN2 joined the fray, lending thunderous support to the 24 contingent and an energetic chase of some marker cones caught it its prop-wash.

Alex took XOF for a short flight and Kevin Rodda scored the flight of the day at 1 hour 24 mins (with his solo tie-down flight) in CQC while Theo Mus made improvements on his takeoff and practiced circuits.

The day wound up with Trevor Mills taking XOF for a flight just short of an hour and Rupert Perry with Garrett Russell doing a "tie-down-flight" in GYK.

CGC glider stats:
CQC - 3 for 2:34
GYK - 5 for 1:47

Thanks to all for participating actively in an enjoyable day at the airfield.
