A total of 11 aero-tow launches today and 9:22 of flying time.

There was some respectable lift in the morning while the wind came in from the north west and we operated from 30.

That all changed at around noon however when the wind changed around to the east and then pulled to the northeast (and we moved gliding operations to 06).

From that point on it was rough and windy under 1,000 feet and not much lift above that!

Longest flight of the day was recorded by Brian Allerby in the privately owned Libelle GPC (2:49 from a launch at 11:46 am).

Ute and glider combination (GPC)

Longest flight in a CGC glider was recorded by Chris Weir in our Club Libelle GJY (2:14 from a launch at 10:12 am) followed by my AEF flight with passenger Kelsey Reid in CQC (1:01 from a 10:58 am launch).

Can you see the pattern developing here? ... if you were in the air by around 11:00 am you had a chance of a good flight!

Speedy even returned after 30 minutes from an 11:30 am self-launch in his K14 motor-glider!

Bob Turner and Mick Moloney kept busy with training flights for David Crocker, Alan Graham (Duty Pilot) and yet another new member Rupert Perry (a solo glider pilot from the UK).

Karl Bodi was on hand to take over tug duties to allow Steve Bowtell to head home early to go out to a family function.

Simon Descovich called in during the afternoon to reward his lovely daughter Sophia with a glider flight for good school results.

Sunday Crew please note ...

a) the tail wheel is off GQA for repair

b) handheld radios need to be used in GQA and CGC until repairs are made

c) in the case of CQC, once the in glider radio is turned on it is locked in open mike
