Peter Stephenson sent this pic in an e-mail from his mobile phone at 0830 on Saturday morning ... obviously impressed with the clouds and full of expectation for the day ahead. Rumour has it that John Ashford had already considered submitting a SAR alert when he realised that Kevin Rodda was "missing". It was later revealed that he (KJR) had made an undertaking to his wife some weeks earlier to have a day away from weekend gliding to attend a friend's 50th birthday celebration further up the Sunshine Coast and had been seen setting off with his wife to fulfil that undertaking with tears filling his eyes every time he looked skyward. 

Peter sent this pic in another e-mail from his mobile phone at 1230 on Saturday ... the day was living up to its early morning promise and the sight of Bert Persson self-launching from 06 at around 1130 gave a good indication to all that there was something special happening up there!   

Kevin Roden sent this pic (looking south over Caloundra to Caboolture) in an e-mail at 1213 on Sunday and commented "Looks better today Peter, much more cloud to play with" ... obviously tongue-in-cheek ... there was a distinct lack of smiles on faces around the pie-cart today compared to yesterday!
