| At
a recent meeting of the YCAB Safety Committee (arranged by the Caboolture Aero Club)
concern was raised in relation to the ongoing safe use of vehicles on the taxiways and
runways of the Caboolture Airfield. |
|
|
| It
was noted that a large portion of vehicle traffic on the airfield relates to our gliding
operations and, while the co-operation of the Caboolture Gliding Club in addressing any
issues that have been raised from to time has been excellent, a request was made that we
continue to be vigilant in this regard. |
|
|
| As
a result of this, at the latest meeting of the CGC Committee, it was resolved that the
following become part of CGC's day to day operating procedures: |
|
|
| 1. The airfield speed limit for vehicles of 15 kph be observed at all times. |
| 2. Taxiway blind spots where we exit from hangar 105 onto the
main taxiway (adjacent to hangar 21 at the tie-down area as well as adjacent to hangar 1
at the fuel bowser) be treated at all times as STOP signs. |
| 3. The lines of white markers that define the width of all
runways be treated at all times as STOP signs. |
| 4. The blind spots at both ends of the track through the trees
between runways 06 and 12 be treated at all times as STOP signs. |
|
|
| All
CGC members should ensure that these procedures are observed at all times in future. |
|
|
Please also ensure that any new members are made fully aware of these procedures before
operating club and/or private vehicles on the airfield. |
