Third K6 Arrives at Caboolture |

Four very long days of
driving (Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed), have seen Barry McCarthy and Garrett Russell collect their
recently purchased ES-KA6 (VH-GRS) from Leongatha Airfield in Victoria. Having spent
around 18 hours on the road from Wagga to Brisbane yesterday, Garrett caught up with his
emails this morning (an interesting and creative new terminology for "sleeping
in"?) while Barry completed solo the Brisbane to Caboolture leg of the trip. GRS
joins Bernard Gonsalves' GSR and Kevin Rodda's GRV to swell South East Queensland's K6
population to five with K6's also located at Boonah and at Warwick. GRS is a living piece
of history being the very first K6 manufactured in Australia by Edmund Schneider while GRV
was the second. With the K7, and the Arrow already in residence at Caboolture, and a Super
Arrow to arrive soon, we almost have sufficient wood and fabric vintage gliders to stage
our own Vintage Gliding Rally! |

The proud dad's with
their newly adopted daughter at Leongatha before de-rigging ... the happy family threesome
has already gained the the affectionate tag of Bazz, Gazz and Kazz! GRS has had only two
previous owners in her 48 years ... the Gliding Club of Victoria and the South
Gippsland Gliding Club. |
