Many
thanks to Judith for battling through fatigue to deliver the reports on a big day for CGC
well, for two CGC members, at least.
As promised here are some photos of the momentous events, from all hands on deck to rig
IKW (God help a retrieve crew in a black soil field) to Berts, Barrys, Tonys
and my first flights in GRS 2 hours 57 minutes between us. Note how well the colour
scheme matches the tug ... |

Col Asher, Judith
Smith, Vince Everett (in the cockpit) and Trevor Mills rigging IKW in readiness for it's
evaluation flight after completion of the Form 2 annual inspection. Many thanks to Trevor
for volunteering to take responsibility for this Form 2! |

It was ES-KA6 GRS's
debut at the CGC flight line today and the first pilot was Bert Persson ... seen here
boarding GRS with assistance from Dave Austin while Barry McCarthy and Tony Sorensen
discuss the new longer "all rope" weak-link that Tony made up to cater for GRS's
belly tow-release (to avoid the potential marking of the fuselage by the existing shorter
"rope and metal" weak-links). |
|

|
|
Bert about to launch
with Barry McCarthy on the wing (closely supervised by Tony Sorensen with Kevin Rodda
one-out-and-one-back in moral support). |
|

Garrett Russell ready
for his first flight in GRS ... some last minute instructions from Barry. It was a big day
for GRS's proud new parents and the Friday regulars enjoyed sharing their excitement. |

And away she goes ...
Gazz in Kazz with Bazz on the wing! Note how quickly grass-left on 12 has dried out and
returned to patches of bare dirt. Note also the colour co-ordination between SPA and
GRS. |

Tony Sorensen not at
all happy with the chance to fly in GRS! |
