Subject: Saturday at CGC hanger

As I was driving to Caboolture I was almost relieved it was cloudy and looked as though it could rain, a strange feeling as I'm always looking for good flying weather when doing that drive.  Poor flying weather would at least mean the working party in the hanger wouldn't be distracted by good clouds.   Yes we did get a reasonably heavy short shower and for a while it didn't look good flying then it cleared and our distractions grew.  It was best to stand with ones back to the hanger doors.

It was a great day in the hanger.  Our office now has a ceiling and a floor above.  The office floor has carpet tiles properly laid.  The 'spare' wings and the larger aircraft 'spares' have been moved into the container in the trailer park.   The maintenance cage cleaned and tidied.   Two trailer loads of rubbish went to the dump.  The hanger completely swept out.  The pie cart was cleaned inside and out.   The only thing that didn't happen was the instalation of the airconditioner and that is a small job Karl will do next time he is at the airfield.

A very big thank you to the willing band of workers headed by Eric Dickerson with his nail gun and saw to create plenty of noise.   Brian and Anne Wade, John Clayton, Mike Brunt, Bob Hainsworth, David Higgs, Vince Everett, Peter Stephenson, Mark Thompson, Karl Bodi, Arthur Mailey, Rod Elsworth,  thank-you everyone a job well done.   Steve and Nathan Bowtell, Bert Persson and Speedy Gonsalves visited, saw we had it under control and left.  Bert, Speedy and Trevor Mills flew out to Watts Bridge and towed Speedie back in the K6.  I didn't get his report on that flight.

I closed the hanger door just after 1700 to finish the best and most comprehensive clean up day we've had.   Keep an eye on the web-site.  The photo gallery will show a montage of the days faces, work in progress and the results.

 Thanks again to all involved.
