Around 10:00 and John Knox waves from one of the DDSC tugs ... ready to launch with Mick Moloney on wing-running duties. It's already looking very much more promising as a good cross-country gliding day!

Vince Everett (his best profile?) and Kevin Roden getting ready for an early McCaffery Field "site orientation" flight in one of the Puchacz's.

John Knox (pictured here with his side-kick "Pat" ... short for Patience). Many thanks from all to John who displayed his own strong levels of patience in waiting around on Tuesday and Wednesday (when weather prevented flying) so that we could get stuck into it today!

David Higgs in the Mosquito (QD) checking out his maps for the day's task.

David Higgs over Dalby (wreckers yard at left) looking down on Kevin Roden in the Jeans (KYT) as well as Peter Stephenson with friend Kevin Snz in the Grob 103 (IUR) thermalling way below him above the square-shaped grey paddock immediately to the right of the wreckers.

David Higgs' photo above caught Kevin in the Jeans low down over the stubble paddock at right (by this time he was back at DDSC from Dalby). The vaguaries of cross country gliding ... despite KEvin getting back home, different thermal choices near Dalby saw Peter with friend outlanding back at Dalby Airport).

Another photo from David Higgs in the Mosquito ... this one shows Barry McCarthy in the LS7 (XOW) above the horizon in the distance thermalling close the DDSC strip.

This shot was taken by Kevin Roden in the Jeans as he rounded Warra Silos (the furthermost point in his 190 klm flight today (DDSC-Dalby-Jimbour-Dalby-Warra-Dalby-DDSC).

Kevin Roden climbing well in a tight thermal above Dalby Silos (on his way out).

This view is looking straight up 30 from behind GWC's tail-plane (with Vince Everett on board) ... with Mick Moloney about to connect the tow rope. Mick also had a big day today with a 2.5 hour 100 klm (DDSC/Dalby/Jimbour/Dalby/DDSC) flight that included a height gain of 4,800 feet. The beers back at the clubhouse were very much appreciated!

Mark Thompson, David Higgs, Barry McCarthy, David Hawes and Peter Stephenson (from left to right) tucking the DDSC gliders back in the hanger after a great day of flying. Bring on tomorrow!
