ENTRIES

A reminder to all competitors that the 2009 Easter Competition will be a GFA endorsed competition and therefore covered by GFA insurance.

This means that:  All pilots in command must have a competition licence. All aircraft must be covered by a minimum of $1m third party liability cover which includes the standard GFA competition endorsement. All aircraft ensured with OAMPS meet this requirement.

This competition is limited to a maxumun of 50 gliders and entries are no longer being accepted.

Pilot requirements

Solo pilots (in single seaters or two seaters) must meet the following requirements. For two seaters flown with two pilots, at least one of the pilots must meet the following requirements. The only requirement for the second pilot is that they must be a current member of the GFA.

1. GFA member
2. At least 20 hours solo
3. Silver C distance
4. Minimum of 10 aero tows
5. Knowledge of rules of the air
6. Current flying practice
7. Annual flight review
8. FAI Competition License
9. If first competition, recommended by CFI
10. GFA membership card and log book showing annual flight review and current flying practice must be produced at registration.

Aircraft requirements

1. Current maintenance release
2. Parachute with current packing slip
3. Liability insurance of at least $1 million

Equipment

Competitors are responsible for bringing their own maps and charts. WAC chart 3340 Brisbane will cover the competition area.

FLARMS are mandatory at this competition, hire/ loan units are available given sufficient notice.

Radio

Radios are mandatory.
It is desirable that a 360 or 720 channel radio be used. 122.9 and 126.7 mhz will be used.
