The task was Dalby - Chinchilla (20) - Jandowie N (20) - Dalby and 28 competitors launched into a very overcast sky. Only a handful completed the task and there were nine outlandings.
Winners were Tim Wilson (LS8) in Sports Class and Jim Crowhurst (ASW19B) in Club Class.

A total of 42 gliders launched into a promising sky, but unfortunately for some things soon deteriorated with some extensive areas of rain in the task area which saw 14 outlandings for the day.

Thermal activity was a bit slow in starting which caused the launch being delayed until 1200 and the task time reduces to 2 hrs. A total ao 40 gliders lauinched and there were just three outlandings
Due to a technical hitch in the scoring process, this award was actually presented to Kim Houghton at the final dinner. When advised of the corrected figures, Kim was adamant that the trophy go to Stephen Thomas. The "re-presentation" was performed by Caboolture GC President Steve Bowtell at the Caboolture airfield on Sunday 17 May as shown below:
